Wanaka, Queenstown-Lakes, Otago
Boutique Wanaka Accommodation. Wanaka Alpine Lodge is a purpose built lodge set on nearly 2 acres of grounds facing Mt Iron. The Lodge is in a semi-rural setting surrounded by New Zealand’s beautiful Southern Alps and just 3km from central Wanaka. It is a hub location for the many places and activities Wanaka has to offer visitors to this region: a short distance from Lake Wanaka, Lake Hawea, Clutha River, Mt Aspiring National Park and the ski fields of Cardrona, Treble Cone and Snow Farm.
It is a jumping off point for Queenstown, the Central Otago towns of Cromwell, Clyde and Alexandra and Lake Tekapo and the Haast (West Coast). There is an endless range of activities including walking and tramping, water sports, snow sports, cycling, flying (heli and fixed wing) and ski diving. People who just want to relax can enjoy the range of cafes, bars and restaurants and stroll to some stunning photo opportunities. As well as vineyards in Wanaka itself, the wine regions of Gibbston, Cromwell, Bannockburn and Alexandra are all within a 30 minute radius.
