Selwyn, Canterbury
Quickenberry Guesthouse is a small lodge in the foothills of Canterbury. Its location is right in the country side with views to hills and mountains. Yet it is only one hour to the airport in Christchurch making it ideal for a first night in New Zealand or the last one.
There are four bedrooms all with en-suites, nicely furnished and with views over paddocks with grazing sheep or cattle to nearby hills. A large lounge has an open fire place and generous sitting areas. There is also a small library and a lovely dining room.
The food we serve has received many awards and is based on New Zealand produce and ingredients such as lamb, venison and salmon. In the summer vegetables come from our own garden as do the herbs and salads.
