Built in 1901 the larger Fitzroy House is one of the oldest homesteads remaining on Great Barrier Island.

There's a fully equipped kitchen, a large indoor dining area, a library and TV/living room. There are also large outside dining areas and expansive gardens to explore.
Room for 10 guests
Five bedrooms can accommodate up to 10 guests. The beds can be arranged to suit your needs, with an option of 3 doubles, 1 twin-single and a bunkroom. Alternatively, you can have 2 doubles, 2 twin-singles and a bunk room.
Fully self-contained
To make your stay convenient and comfortable, Fitzroy House is self-contained (this includes all your linen). There’s a large BBQ and a Bluetooth stereo. You’ll also find books and games.
In addition to exploring the gardens, the many walks, in summer there's the bay a few minutes walk down the hill, where there is swimming and kayaks.
In the winter you can snuggle up with a wood burner and stanley stove to keep you warm and cosy.
