Honeywell Hut is just 50 minutes from popular Motueka, and just over 1 hour from Nelson. The hut is en route from the Abel Tasman National Park, heading towards the West Coast - which makes it the perfect stop-over accommodation for a road trip around the South Island.
Set on Baton Run Farm, a large and dramatic sheep and beef farm, Honeywell Hut has all the style and feel of a backcountry musterer's hut. The one-room hut has been loving restored over the years with a ton of creative, rustic charm. Recycled timber, rescued from the farm has been used in the detail, including old bridge and cattle yard timber. Locally milled macrocarpa lines the walls - infusing it with a warm and cosy atmosphere. A potbelly stove keeps you snug inside, and an outdoor wood stove in the outdoor kitchen area heats all your water for showers and baths.
